On October 14, 1926 A.A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh was first published! One of my favorite books that even after 84 years is still entertaining.

Fitting I discovered this tidbit as I’m washing the Eyore sweatshirt that got hungry at dinner. Oh Bother. Fortunately, I was able to change into my fleece featuring Piglet, Pooh, Eyore, Owl, Tigger and Rabbit.

Most people go to Disney to see Mickey … I’m all about the Hundred Acre Wood Gang. Do you like old pooh, reinvented new pooh? Who is your favorite character?

  1. My son used to LOVE Whinnie the Pooh. We watched hours and hours of Pooh videos when he was young. My favorite was the one with Cassie the bird. I like all the characters, but Pooh and Piglet were my favorites. Eyore was just so unmotivated! Owl a know-it-all. Tigger a bit out there. And Rabbit not all that nice.

  2. I find all of them loveable and yes they all flawed by having the traits you mentioned. I like to think Pooh and the gang were prepping us for the real world ...except at somepoint, they all managed to come around ...

  3. Read all the books to my children. They loved the originals. Grandchildren are more into the new ones. I love Eeyore. He was always a trip. But my favorite was Owl.

  4. Love Winnie-the-Pooh. The A.A.Milne books. Hate the Disney version.

  5. We *heart* Winnie the Pooh in our house!

Here's another interesting tidbit for you about Winnie. The real bear was named after my home town Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada! Here's a little article about the real story of how the bear became Winnie the pooh. http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/bears/19829
